Hatha Yoga

This style of yoga has been the same for 1000s of years. Hatha is where most other styles of yoga have branched off from. The word Hatha has serval meaning in many different cultures but the most popular meaning is to balance the mind and body. “Ha” representing esoteric sun and “tha” moon, joining the two energies together and coming into balance.

In a Hatha class you’ll have a set of physical postures along with Pranayama breathing techniques that are practiced slowly and with intention. In Hatha there will be longer static holds than you’ll see in a Vinyasa class. Hatha can be considered yoga of force, so anything involving the body, pranayama, asana, mudra, mantra, and kriyas all can be seen with Hatha. This class ranges from 30-90 mins.

Buti Yoga

"Buti" is a Marathi Indian word that means, "The cure to something hidden or secret." This 60 min class is a soulful blend of primal and intuitive movement, cardio and plyometrics, that is seamlessly woven into a Vinyasa flow; all set to heart pumping music. This class will be sure to leave you sweating and will help you get out of your head and into your body.

All Buti formats incorporate spiral structure technique® used to activate our deep core muscles paired with intentional shaking & vibration to release trauma stored at the cellular level and release and relax facia throughout the body. These classes range from 30-90 mins. Most classes at Wild lotus are 60 mins.

Vinyasa

Vinyasa in sanskit  has two components –  Nyasa means “to place,” and  vi is “in a special way.” Vinyasa aligns a deliberate sequence of asanas "poses" with pranayama

“breath” to achieve a continuous flow. Although you may also hold poses for a few breaths, you’ll move from one pose to the next with the use of your breath to create a flow. This gives you the feeling that your breath is moving throughout the body.

Vinyasa is an active form of yoga practice that will get you moving. Classes can be slower or faced paced moving from one asana “pose” to the next. This practice can improve endurance, strength and balance. Promote relaxation and can help lower stress and anxiety and improve quality of sleep. This class can range from 30- 90 mins

Yin Yoga

Yin yoga differs from restorative yoga, as it pushes students to find there edge of discomfort in order to fully release the fascia and tension in the body. Yin is a cooling and grounding practice, great for those coming from injury or rehabilitation looking for deep healing, focus, and relaxation.

In this style we are targeting the deep connective tissues of the body and the fascia the covers the whole body, helping regulate the flow of energy in the body, joint, ligaments, and connective tissue longevity. Promoting physical & mental health, vitality and flexibility.

In yin you’ll typically hold simple postures anywhere from 3-7 minutes. Teaching students to be gentle and soft in there movements and thoughts. For this class you can bring pillows, blankets or bolsters to help you ease into the pose. These class's typically range from 60-90 mins.

Meditation can be defined as a set of techniques that are intended to encourage a heightened state of awareness and focused attention. During this practice pranayama techniques “breathwork” is used to calm the mind and central nervous system. Meditation is often guided with an instructor that will use visualization and breathwork to help relax your body and mind.

The relaxation response from meditation helps decrease metabolism, lowers blood pressure, and improves heat rate, breathing and brain waves. Other benefits include, improved focus and concentration, improved self-awareness and self-esteem, lower levels of stress and anxiety leading to an overall healthier emotional wellbeing.

Glows

Buti Yoga and many other forms yoga and fitness elevate the experience by having Glow classes. What better way to bond with your family and friends then paint each other with glow paints before glowing up and working out under the ultraviolet lights and pumping music. During a glow, we have various neon colored glow paints that we use to paint our faces and bodies.

During Mother/Daughter/Son Yoga glows we guide our kiddos to use their imaginations as they paint up and get ready to move, dance and work out under the glow lights. Often, we wear neon colors, glow necklaces and bracelets for the ultimate glowing effect. Glows are fun, energetic and a great way to bond and get your kiddos moving. Keep an eye out for upcoming glows on the calendar or request for your own GLOW event.
